OMD Gio - we are! The AKC even thinks I'm a Collie! Since I'm not registered, I compete in events in their ILP program and they ILP'd me as a Collie instead of a Sheltie!laugh out loudlaugh out loud

Do you ever get mistaken for a Collie?

All the time! But Shelties are pretty common around here so I most often get "Is that a big Sheltie or a small Collie?"

I know that your question was not aimed at me, Hayley, but one person so far has mistaken me for a tiny Collie. They saw me and said "Hey, it's a miniature Collie! Lassie-et, Lassie-et!" Mistress though that it was funny, but it isn't!
People around here seem to be pretty well-informed on the differences between Collies and Shelties. Most people say when they see me, "Is that a Sheltie?"
Mistress has seen three Shelties in this area so far. One time the Sheltie's owner told her that her dog was a miniature Collie.big laugh The other two people knew better.
Once, while I was browsing through Collie pages with my mistress, we found a Sheltie but he was listed as Collie. I sent him a paw-mail telling him what he really was. And another one it was either a Sheltie or a Collie (can't remember which) and he was listed as a Border Collie. Sent him a PPR saying what the guy's dog really was.

I was curious about the weight - oh btw I am 13 in. tall! My vet and mom thinks I'm just right, but dad thinks I'm way to skinny. I am a very picky eater and if I get distracted I don't eat!
Tanks for all your posts - mom feels better now!

Duncan is 12-1/4" tall, and 11lbs when last weighed. He used to be 7.5lbs at 2 years old! We really had to work to get the weight on him, as we could put the same dish of food down for days before he would eat. It took the competition of more doggies to get him to eat!

Lexi is the easy keeper in the house. She is right around 12", and she weighs 12.5lbs. She should be between 10 and 11 lbs. She needs to go on a diet, and get running around more come summer!

Mila is 11", and 11 lbs. She should go on a diet too, but that is tough when she eats everything and anything, whether it is edible or not!

Jayna is the big girl here, being 8 months old, and just over 14" tall. When she was 6 months old in January, she weighed 10lbs. I have managed to get some weight on her, even though she is still a little skinny, and I believe she is around 12lbs.
