Adopted dog still scared of somet things

Hey everybody.

My wife and I adopted,we think a collie,dalmation cross the beginning of the year as a puppy. She absolutely adores us and we love her to bits. She is however scared of the car,plastic and when she is outside and off her lead,she doesnt want to come. Almost like she is scared of the word come. We have never hit her with bags,paper or anything.She is spoiled. Another thing ,she eats unbelievably fast. Is that a problem?

How old was she when you got her? If she wasn't socialized properly as a puppy then it will take a lot of work, patience and time to help her through her fears. There are a few books you can get that may help you like "The Cautious Canine", "Scaredy Dog" and a few others that maybe someone else can suggest. It also sounds like she needs some formal training. I would enroll her in some training classes. Good Luck!
