I think it would be great if adoptable dogs would be featured on the dogster home page, sort of like DOD and DOTW.
To make sure that the dog is still available for adoption people need to submit their adoptables to dogster, also to avoid people abusing this maybe only dogs that are being fostered by a non profit rescue.
Dogster is such a greatplatform and any dog on the main page will be seen by so many people. I think it would really help out.

One thing I would really like... Petfinder used to have a better search, where you could search age, gender, color (good for cats mostly, people often label their breed by their color such as "orange shorthair" etc) and breed as well as size and location. Nowadays when you search for a breed on Petfinder it lists all the dogs that have that breed in them, meaning if you're searching for example for a German Shepherd you might find a dog that is a mixed breed and is nothing like a German Shepherd. Basically, allowing to search breeds in many ways such as searching for only dogs who are purebred of that breed, only mixes of that breed, or even search dogs who are specifically mixes of 2 different breeds.

I think the adoption section should have a whole different format. Here in the forum things tend to get a little scattered and disorganized, especially with other posts getting pushed to the 2nd page where noone tends to look.

When someone submits one of their dogs, have them fill out a form with the necessities - name, breed, age, location, etc. Then, have a search engine geared specifically to that. That way, if I am looking for a black lab in Northern California, I can type in "labrador retriever" in the breed search engine and "Northern California" in the area search engine and come up with a few hits.

If possible, have people here help by going to their local shelter and taking pictures to put up on dogster!! Maybe we can make this place a better place than petfinder.com!
