Has anyone been to Busch Gardens with their service dog? I am considering going there with Samson and with a friend and her service dog. How was the park, were their specific places for dogs to relieve themselves, was the staff worried about the dog being in any place specific? Thanks for any info or tips!

I've never been, but a majority of your questions could be directed to the park's disability services desk/line.

Voltaire-

Thank you for that advice but the info the park will give me is very different from what an actual service dog user will.

I've been but it was close to a decade ago and I know they've done a lot of remolding since then. It may depend on which park you go to... I went to the Virginia park. My experiences were extremely pleasant, and I didn't have any problems while I was there. Granted again... it was years ago with Vena my shepherd and that was a completely different matter.

We went to the one in Williamsburg, VA a few years ago. Service Dogs are welcomed.. Remember that there is loads of concrete -- in FL and VA .. Make sure that have walking shoes on. I know that they had relief areas where we could take our dogs -- it was on the entry sheet.

The one in VA has this HUGE dippy roller coaster and people screaming.. It scared the living hell out of Shadow .. He never had seen or heard people screaming like that.. We were fine in the quieter areas of the park..

Will I never go back with my Service Dog -- NO -- He got overheated from the humidity even thou I was carrying water with me.. Most of the water had to be dumped on him thru out the day to keep him cool.

I have been there many many times. Never seen a service dog but as was mentioned lots of hard concrete floors. There are areas with grass and trees throughout but you have to sort of keep and eye out for it. I don't know about the friendliness/welcoming of the employees and such but there is space for you both to walk nicely and there are areas where there isn't much going on as far as foot traffic and rides. Not much info but something smile
