I can not believe I am making this post in NOVEMBER but we are preparing to evacuate for a hurricane. We have hotel reservations for Monday and Tuesday nights. We are going to La Quinta because they are pet friendly and we have pet dogs in addition to Harley. If you are also in a position to have to evacuate, remember that SDs are exempt from no pet policies, and depending on your state, SDITs may be as well.

Good luck and be safe.

We had to stay at a La Quinta for a month this past summer with all three dogs and 3 cats while we delt with water damage and mold. It is a great place for pets.

La Quinta is probably my favorite place to stay with dogs. We usually only travel with Jenna, but I still look for a dog friendly place usually even though they cannot deny SD. Mostly cause it's less headaches at check in and your dog can have a little time off/relaxed time instead of when going out having to be 100% all the time. It's usually a much better environment for the dog.

Anyway, I know what you mean about a hurricane in November. I'm sure you guys will be fine. Good luck!

La Quinta is great! Stayed there on our move back north because the dogs were allowed without charge.

Good luck and stay safe. We just moved away from the Gulf Coast. Such a relief to not deal with that anymore. Heck, I didnt even know a hurricane was coming to the US! Keep us updated.

We are safely hunkered down in the hotel and I think everyone has finally settled down. All day, the principal at school was saying that they weren't going to cancel school for tomorrow. I was watching the predictions and saying, "yeah, sure....there's a tropical storm poised to make landfall within 15 miles of here at 7 am, and we're going to have school." At 5:30 this evening, they canceled school for tomorrow. The man is still at work. I will feel better when he is hunkered with us, but we are comfortable and safe. The hotel is FULL of locals running from the storm. This is a real rural area with lots of trailers, especially after Katrina took out most of the homes. I'm glad to see people are taking the storm seriously.
