Really, I think it's up to the person to decide what would be a good SD for them. Could overall Mastiff's not make great SD's? Maybe. But, for someone, they could find a Mastiff that makes a wonderful SD.

Just like some people say shelter dogs aren't good for SD work, is most of the time that true? Probably. But there have been successful SD rescue dogs on this site.

Still have to Agree with ProZac.
My trainer has a lot of experience with Bull Mastiffs and Mastiffs. They make great mobility, balance and stability dogs. And yes, great PSD's as well. That's why I had wanted one.
You need to talk to the people with the experience training them as SD's and not just one person with one dog that's a very small sample.

oh my, thank you so much Bam Bam!cloud 9 Found a spot in my memorysmile The Zeus I am talking about is this Zeus:
Mh - somehow things in my post don't work out. I am trying to link my album and as usual, it doesn't workshrug

ok, again.

I love this fellow - he is awesome. The right balance of energy and calmness. I am jealous wink He is like Jolanda, when he gets close to the water hose, he goes wild. He and Jolanda goofed around with the hose and he does the same goofy jumps Jolanda does - the only difference, when he bounces up, he is face to face with me laugh out loud And I am telling you - don't let the Mastiffs fool you. They are very good jumpers............... laugh out loud
Before Zeus, I had never played with a Mastiff and when he did his first bounce, I screamed and dropped the hose big laughbig laugh Jolanda and him stood there, looking at me, at each other and I swear they shrugged their shouldersshrug Now I know and I am having a blast with him.
Ok, I am raving here, but he is amazing. So is his sister. She is a bunch of energy.
Have fun with the photos - two of my top 10.
He is sooo big.
Thanks again BamBam, sonja
