|Tularemia can be transmitted through eating undercooked/raw flesh of infected animals, through parasites such as ticks, and biting insects like biting flies and misquotes, by drinking infected water, inhaling aerosols of infected matter such as feces or soil, and also from contact with an infected animals feces, urine, or blood.
Rodents can carry the disease as well as rabbits. In rabbits and rodents, I believe that they normally don't live very long after contracting the disease. In humans and pets, it can be treated with antibiotics successfully if diagnosed early. I do think it's a pretty rare disease.
