Before anyone says anything- don't even bother mentioning how young he is please.

I really want to put my new little baby on raw, but honestly don't have the time to set it all up and do a balanced like what I was doing for my adults (I am ashamed to say I have had to switch them back to dry).

Buying premade raw for my adults is unrealistic cost wise due to the amount the would eat, but for a 5-6 week old puppy (for at least a little bit) it is doable.

He is a large breed (adult weight should be somewhere between 75-95lbs).

So what experiences have you all had with premade raw and young pupies? And which premades would you recommend?

Thank you!!!

The fact that you even have to mention this should tell you where the issue is, right? shrug But whatever.

I started Ridley on The Honest Kitchen mixed in with raw beef/beef organs and later chicken and a variety of other meats. I have used Primal's sardine grinds and like them. For cost I prefer doing a THK mixed with meat- its cheaper than most premade raws if you can source some fresh meat locally for cheap.

For premade, I'd probably recommend Bravo. They offer a variety of products, including boneless blends. Be sure to throw in some bone in pieces of meat (frozen is great for teething pups) like chicken, rabbit or turkey for the dental and mental benefits.

Thank You Neeko! I will see if I can find that.

Mulder, I don't expect you or anyone else to understand that wolfdogs of significant wolf heritage are pulled and bottle fed early and often weened a bit earlier as well.

I thought I'd get ahead of the game before anyone opened their big mouth and asked why I was feeding him raw so young. But thank you for your advice. shrug

way to go

Anyone else know of any other good premade raws, I am open to other suggestions as well.

Why would I know? This is a dog forum after all... not a wolf one.

Sorry I ran my big mouth party

I like Nature's Variety Instinct Raw for premades.

Stella and Chewys is good, either the freeze dried or frozen. I also like ZiwiPeak.

Onyx, thank you! I have fed that to my adult dogs before as treats/snack.

Brody, I have never heard of the first, but I know a few people that have fed ZiwiPeak before!

Thanks again guys.

Mulder, don't even get me started. He is a canine, a wolfdog, not a wolf. This is the raw section- wolfdogs can be fed raw just like "regular" dogs/puppies. They may be more "special needs" in other areas but I have just as much right to post and ask questions here concerning my animals (that is not wolfdog specific, which this question was not) as you do. wave

Ziwipeak is an excellent product. It will get pretty pricy, pretty quickly for as much as you'll need to feed. They gave very generous samples if you request them on their website.

Reagan, don't know much about premade raw (other than billinghurst barf patties and how he wrote a book on them, lol!) but wanted to say what a cutie Wilbur is! Good luck finding the right raw for him.
