When I was looking for a vet when we moved to Saskatoon I purposely chose a vet who called herself "holistic" but didn't know how she felt about food or whether she was really a "holistic" vet, as many say they are, but really aren't. I was half-expecting a challenge on the raw thing, or maybe the fact that I didn't feed veggies. SOMETHING. The second question she asked was what I fed. I said proudly and confidently, "I feed raw. Not pre-made, but a diet I put together from chunks and whole pieces." With no expression change she just went on to the next question, "How long have you been feeding raw?" I said with even more confidence and even a bit of arrogance, "about 5 years". She totally put me in my place with a nod, and said, "So not, long, eh?"
