Up until now I’ve only supplemented Winston’s diet with salmon body oil for the Omega 3s, however I’ve now decided that adding some raw nuts may not be a bad idea. I’ve tried googling but haven’t come up with much in the way of guidance. Any idea why they recommend “crushed brazil nuts” instead of just tossing him a whole one every couple of days if he happily chews it?
I also came across an article that discouraged nuts because the fat content could lead to diarrhea, vomiting, and pancreatitis. I have to think though that our raw fed dogs are pretty accustomed to a higher percentage of their diet coming from fat and that a single nut every day or couple of days wouldn’t be something to worry about. | | | | |
