|While I know Frankie could have found not as attentive adoptive parents, I also sometimes feel we are not letting him be the dog he could be..
I strongly feel he could do agility training..He has always shown amazing skills at jumping and running, even for a puppy!!
Oftentimes I soooo wish we had a fenced in yard.
Frankie really does not like a leash or his tie-out. He prefers to be free. I know a lot of pups are like that, and he has gotten better about it. Especially the tie-out, he used to do his little exorcisim routine where he would practically do a 360-degree with his head, attempting to bite my hand when I tried to put him on his tie-out. His leash he also gave me a lot of grief in the beginning. I strongly think his foster mommy let him run free. I got him off petfinder and the foster mommy basically took my money and ran, ignored questions about the pup..
At any rate, I did do some scoping around about the rescue place I got him from, and did find out the foster mom's name, and it does appear she does breed small dogs, and I did run across some videos on YT of her yard, and she has small dogs, a couple cats, even a very docile, if somewhat large, bunny rabbit. so obviously Frankie in his very first few weeks was used to no leash.
I would love to get a fence, or even an invisible fence, but S/O will not do it..
I do all I can to make Frankie the best dog possible but sometimes I feel like he is slighted..
Today he was running outside in the sun, oh so happy, and then he would get caught because the tie-out would stop him..
I am not really looking for advice, just sort of wondering if others sometimes feel their dog would/could do better elsewhere...
I do also think he would do extremely well with another small, young, playful, high-energy dog..
Am I a bad doggy momma...?
Getting another dog or another pet is also out of the question..
Just wondered if anyone else ever felt their dog is not living up to his/her potential or they were holding him/her back...
I know we are doing the best we/I can, and all in all he seems happy, sometimes I can't help but wonder...
