 | | | | Hello, all! In my post about Piper's death in the Saying Goodbye forum, I talked about an Aussie puppy that we were fostering over the weekend to see how the addition of a dog would affect our household dynamic before making a decision. Violet, our Collie, does very poorly as an only dog and was inconsolable, barely eating or interacting with anyone. She perked up whenever she was around other dogs, and my fiancee and I both felt that it was best for everyone to consider a second dog sooner rather than later, for Violet's sake and frankly, to bring some light and laughter back into our home.
We unexpectedly came across a local rescue that had a litter of 10 Aussie puppies and was looking for fosters. We explained our situation and they were very understanding and we agreed to foster a puppy and after the weekend, start thinking about whether he would remain a foster, or stick around permanently.
It's been a few days now and he is doing wonderfully. Violet is a new dog - she adores him, nurtures him and plays with him. We weren't sure if we would be ready so soon and didn't want to make a rash decision, but he's really wormed his way into our hearts. He's an amazing puppy, very smart and funny, and he's been a joy to have around. There seems to be no reason not to keep him around.
So without further ado - introducing Griffin. | | | | |
