Hey everyone,
Luna is turning 7 weeks tomorrow (my how the time flew by!) and i have stopped feeding her the puppy blend gruel and started feeding her earthborn holistic puppy vantage with a little bit of warm water to soften it a bit. Was just wondering how much puppy food should she be getting at EACH serving. I've heard that the feeding guidelines on the back aren't really much to follow. Last week when i took her to the vet she was 8lbs and 7oz. I need help figuring out how much food she should get at each serving. Plus i'm not all that great at figuring this type of things out.
I look forward to hearing your suggestions smile
Everyone have a great day!

I would suggest trying about a third of a cup three times a day. You can always cut back if she doesn't finish or give a bit more if she seems to still be hungry. Even with our breeders guideline, which was a bit of a guesstimate since she was feeding a litter of nine,we had to play around a bit with Kai's portion as well, and he was growing so fast, that it was hard to keep track,he also seemed to prefer more food first thing in the morning and in the evening before bed. We also had Mika's kibble down so he could munch some of that if he wanted it. We could not leave his down for free feeding because Mika would eat his and become sick. Hope this helps.

I've been feeding her 3/8 of a cup and is doing well with that. I also noticed that she eats better in the expen. When I feed her out in the open she gets too distracted but in the expen she eats all of her food in one sitting. I am so happy she's eating dry now. Makes feeding time easier and takes less time to pour it than making the puppy blend.

Just watch her at around 12-16 weeks. I really can't give a much closer time frame because teething and how each pup does it vary, but both Mika and Kai went through a period at about 14 weeks where the tooth loss was faster than the replacement of adult teeth and we had to go back to wetting their food so that they could get enough. We knew something was up because more food was being left in the dish than was typical and they seemed to lose,or fail to gain enough weight to keep up with the rest of their growth,it may not happen with Luna,I just wanted you to be prepared if it does so that you don't worry. She is just getting so cute!!!
