How much Water do you give your Puppy?

Got a new, young, furry love in your life? This is the place for you to ask all of your questions-big or small! Just remember that you are receiving advice from other dog owners and lovers... not professionals. If you have a major problem, always seek the advice of a vet or behaviorist! Most important is to remember to have fun with your new fur baby.

Olive - if you are that thirsty, you might want to go to the vet. Honestly, that sounds like an excessive amount of drinking.

We have a yorkie friend with Cushings Disease and one of the most obvious symptoms was that she was thirsty constantly. Thirst can also be a symptom of diabetes, bladder problems, or kidney problems.

Its possible that Olive just likes to drink water, but you might want to get a vet's opinion.

You are so right Brody
... The amount and or frequency of drinking can tell us humans alot about the dogs health and give warnings. Unless potty training ( only at night) dogs should have water . It should never be limited. There are so many things health wise that water drinking tells us and it could mean the difference of life or death. So I hope people are not limiting their pups water.

Olive,
Maybe you can let her have an unlimited amount and measure how much she takes in in a day. That way, it's easier to tell if she is drinking too much, if it's too much, head to the vet!
Yay new emoticons! happy dance
