	Hi all. I'm a bit new to forums, but since I'm trying to get a group formed (I hope to become a non-profit eventually), I'm probably going to have to learn. We lived in TN for a while, and got to go to a few pretty cool dog parks before moving back up here. I fell in love with dog parks, and have determined that I will start a group here to get one (or more, hopefully). Kyle misses them, and Ralf would love to try them, I'm sure. So, here I am, researching ways to convice people of the needs of dog parks, and justify their worth, suggested rules of conduct, and advice on starting a non profit organization. I've brainstormed a ton of ideas for fundraising and sponsorship. I've got a few neighbors interested, and I've started a group on facebook as a way to get more people involved. So far, I'm calling it "Friends of UP Dog Parks" (because my idea, Parks for Paws, turned out to be already used someplace else... rats!). I'm looking for help and advice, people who want to contribute or get involved. I am also wondering how far people would be willing to drive to a dog park, where we could put a dog park... 	That sounds awesome! Unfortunately I don't live in the UP at this time, but my grandma and grandpa live up in Marquette so we get up there a couple times a year. And, Dog willing, so will we one day. My Mom has informed me it's in the family master plan. But Marquette is a pretty populous area, not sure where you're at, and has a lot to draw folks to it anyway like Northern Michigan University and the hospital and festivals and things. Mom'll definitely be keeping an eye on this because she's wished for a dog park up there when we've gone to visit before, but like I said right now we're confined to the lower peninsula.
