 | |  | | When I was younger, we adopted a peke who was beaten also. I would say the best thing you can do is be truly calm around him. He's been in an aggressive environment for a while so that behaviour is difficult for him to unlearn. Be patient, let him have time to get acclimated and be extremely mindful of your tone of voice. Just like with people, trust has to be cultivated with pets especially with those rescued from less than ideal environments. |  |  | |  |
