Gunner...as I said... I am best off the firearms subject.. I have extremely strong views on them.. and the "right" of owning of them .This is not the place for me to further discuss it.

Bunny.. whatever made you think you WERE NOT the food dispenser !!!!!!!

Flicka. I understand. smile flowers

This evening I found an awesome link for Hommade laundry detergent .

I used it on a couple of blankets and here is my verdict!

1. It cleans. Like, really cleans.
2. It pulls out stains really well!
3. It has a soft scent that doesn't overpower me, but absolutely smells like clean laundry.
4. It may be better used in conjunction with a softener--it doesn't do much for making clothes SOFT.
5. It was less than $20 for like... A years worth.
6. It was EASY to make--just mix it up!
7. Except for the soap grating part... That was a pain.
8. The ingredients don't cause allergies.
8. I think it's worth it. big grin And I now have a gigantic bucket to prove it!

Jewel, I was all ready to take loads of basset pictures. They're uh, "photogenic." laugh out loud But Kato wasn't handling the situation too well, so I didn't get the chance at any action shots.

Bunny, bears!shock I love going on hikes, just me and the dogs, but when I'm in Michigan, I always ask someone to go with me because I'm so scared of running into a bear. And no, they are definitely not more afraid of me than I am of them!

Gunner, I LOVE DIY stuff like that. Totally saved that for myself. Gotta find a big bucket with a lid first.

Flicka, Illinois is a pretty plain Jane state, but I am quite pleased with their gun laws. No concealed carry here, thank you.way to go

Kato got into a little skirmish at the dog park tonight. Him and 2 youngins (not quite a year old) were playing when the play just kept getting more and more rough and eventually got to the point where Kato wasn't comfortable with it and got a little frightened. Well, the 2 teenagers just kept going at him with that rough play and tempers flared between them. One of the dogs got bit on the ear, nothing serious. Not sure who bit, but I didn't really think it was that big of a deal. You have the cool fall air, 2 young dogs entering their rebellious stage, and a whole lot of wild play going on. Stuff like this just happens sometimes. We all took a time-out and everything was fine. But the owners of the dog that got bit were not happy and started pointing fingers. Really, unnecessary drama. Made the lady with the other dog feel really bad. I had a good talk with her after the others left and reassured her that her dog is doing just fine. He really is a sweat dog too.

Sheldon has a new home! smile dancing He's staying with me until at least tomorrow or maybe Wednesday while they get everything together for him. I'm gonna miss the little booger!! So is Sarah!

Sarah & I had nosework tonight, and we did our first outdoor search. It took her a little while to realize it was time to search for birch, not squirrels! Once she got it in her brain that it was working time, she did really well. It's so cool to watch her find the scent trail and work her way to the source! She is pretty much on the scent now instead of the food that is hidden with it. I know this because she does not like the spray cheese the trainer is using! haha!!

Lizzie (my 10 year old Aussie) is acting weird. She was laying down and she just started crying and shaking. She stopped now but she had me pretty scared for a little while there. Not sure what she was worried about. Hoping she wasn't in pain...

Work is getting overwhelming. Of course it doesn't help that I am up until 11pm every night...

Gunner... that stuff looks good !!

Will read it more thoroughly morro.. but it has my attention !!

Sanka... that doesnt even touch my feelings about gun laws.... like I said... I best not expound here !!!!

Those other owners.. I bet they think their human kids dont fight occasionally too hug It was nice of you to reassure the lady too.

Sarah,,,,, Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy for Sheldon !!!!!!!!

And... at risk at being laughed off the planet... animals sometimes "see" things we dont. I know we have a "visirtor" here occasionally. Not scarey.. just a little .. "throws you" and them.. till we catch on.Been a "seer" all my life anyway.

If she wasnt hurting and all was well otherwise.. perhaps you did have a visitor... Some take it in their stride.. others need reassurance.

Ok.. you can laugh at me now !!

Sanka! laugh out loudlaugh out loudlaugh out loudbig laughbig laughbig laugh Thanks for the laugh! Too funny! laugh out loudlaugh out loud Bunny we saw a 250-300 pound bear about a mile up the road the other day. I stopped the truck and the bear sat down and watched us watch him! Then he went through the woods into another field. It's that time around here for them. Tomorrow is trash day so no walks until the trash truck is gone! way to go We've got bear, pheasants, grouse and fox here, just to name a few in my yard alone. Natasha, I'm what you would call "heavily" tattooed. I don't smoke and rarely drink and I appreciate art so I tattoo. A lady asked me once why I do it, I told her when I die I want to be cremated. I figure whoever stokes the fire will see the pretty colors. She was a bit shocked at first then laughed! Onyx, I agree, shiney black GSD with beautiful collars. Nite nite all! flowers

Dunlop, thanks! My mother made that one. I'm working on making a few as well but I'm not nearly as skilled at sewing as she is.

Flicka, thanks again for the link! I definitely want to get all the information I can before committing. Especially since cats these days can live to be 20+ years old!

Yoshi, we actually broke up, which is part of the reason I haven't been around as much lately. We're still friends and he does poke around Dogster occasionally, but he's never been a regular poster.

Gunner, thanks! He does attract a fair amount of attention, which he generally ignores laugh out loud I might have to try that detergent!

Sarah, so glad to hear Sheldon has a new family cheer

Oni and I started our Foundations of Agility II class tonight. I struggle with the front cross, and tonight was no exception, but Onyx was a champ as usual. He makes me look better than I am laugh out loud

party Yay Sheldon!! party

Yoshi - They moved in months and months ago and since then had been playing loud music for hours on end. There's a house between me and them but I could still hear the WORDS of their music INSIDE my house. I finally had enough and called the cops one night....after closing the blinds and shutting off all the lights. laugh out loud

Onyx - let me tell you an Agility story. Sonja has two speeds...fast and mosey. At an Agility trial she was lightning through the first part of the course. She got to the weave poles (which she can do quite speedy as well) and switched to her mosey mode...like snail pace slow. Hubby was trying all the tricks in his book to get her going again...but she wasn't having any of it.

So, Hubby finally says, "Can you GO any slower?" Sonja takes herself out of the weave poles...stops dead and looks straight at Hubby as if to say, "yep, how's this." laugh out loud

That was the day when we knew....NEVER underestimate the wit of a Poodle. laugh out loud

Needless to say, Sonja was done with that course. When hubby tried to get her back in the game...she just spun and bounced in place doing "kanga-poodle" and barked.
