We continued with the old movie star theme with Cooper. We had started it with Harlow and just thought it would be fun to keep it going!

Fitzgerald's name is from F. Scott Fitzgerald (I'm an English major)
His middle name is Ulysses, just because I thought it sounded nice. His initials with my last name actually spell FUR.

Beulah's name is from a band. Her middle name, Lucille, is from the Kenny Rogers song.

Brycone

Mom's Left Hand- Man - I'm ready are- you?

Barked: Tue Oct 26, '10 6:58pm PST
Brycone's name (pronounced Bryson) came from his look at me after we picked him up at the breeder. His look in his eyes was similar to my brother - Bryane's. And Bryane's nickname was Samson, he was so strong (he passed in 1981). So I took the "Bry" from Bryane, the "son" from Samson and since my mom had always spelled our names with a little twist, always adding an 'e' to the end, I had to add that twist to my Boy's name. My name begins with a 'c' so used that instead of the 's' in Samson. Putting it all together, I got a Boy that reminds me of my brother in devotion and love, spelled his name in a way others aren't going to think of right away so it's all his. And it reminds me without the pain to family that might have happened if I had used my brother's full name.

Ginger

To bravely go to- new frontiers

Barked: Tue Oct 26, '10 7:28pm PST
Ginger's original name was going to be My Little Bit O'Honey after the candy because I thought she was so sweet, but after having her home for a little while, I found out that her sweetness had some 'bite' to it...muhuhuha!!!... So instead of Bit of Honey, She became Ginger. Nick named Ginger Snap, Ginger Bread, Ginger Root and Ginger Ale, eventually the baby teeth and some of the chewing stopped. One day Dear Hubby (DH) had had enough of Ginger's antics and called her Ginger Marie. He was used to saying Heather Marie because that's his niece's name. But Ginger Marie it was and is to this day. And she's still got some of the sweetness and some of the 'bite' of her name.

Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa - Bring back your- smile!

Barked: Tue Oct 26, '10 7:31pm PST
We were told that Mona Lisa got her name because she liked to talk a lot but her talk was more moaning than talking. They added the 'Lisa' so it wasn't so obvious to folk. Wherever you are Mona, we love and miss you!!! Hope you are happy, wherever you are.

Ali

Happy to be- alive!

Barked: Tue Oct 26, '10 7:39pm PST
All but one of Ali's littermates were named by her breeder. I chose the spelling for Ali's name though. Karamela was the one I named. But the breeder's husband fell in love with her and decided to keep her instead. Karamela looked like a little caramel with the white frosting in the middle. She was going to be mine originally, but Ali was sweeter and we were hoping she'd make it as a service dog so I got Ali and they kept Karamela. Ali didn't have the temperament for service work and wanted her sisters and brothers again so went home with them. I miss you Sweet Girl.

Barked: Wed Oct 27, '10 6:20pm PST
love the name Nacho! Anyway Cookie my Chihuahua looked like a chocolate chip cookie when we got her. (Keep in mind this was when I was 11.)

Ezra was given that name when The Seeing Eye had an "E" litter of puppies because the person must have been going through the Bible.

My mom thought Baileys coat was the color of Baileys Irish Cream so we shortened it. Opal came with her name alot of people like it because they say she looks like an Opal in the show ring.

Gracie

I'm a wild and- crazy gal!

Barked: Thu Oct 28, '10 2:50pm PST
Gracie got her name because she's got grace. I named her Gracie instead of Grace because I like it better, and I wanted her to have a 2-syllable name.
