Gray Dawn- Treader

Don\\\'t Tread- on me

This morning Treader asked to be let out. I let him out, but as soon as he was outside he stared at me. I let him back in. He still wanted out, but I ignored him. Later on I let him out and he just stared at me after being let out again. I figured that he never does that unless he wants me to follow him (he did it one time before when I left one of his toys outside and out of reach), so I went outside with him. He led me to the end of the porch and showed me a little hole in to the ground. An insect (or some sort of "bug") came out. It was a rusty-red color and it was flying, but that was all that I could tell about it. Treader tried to catch it and it flew away. Could it have been a wasp? Why did Treader think it was important enough to show me? Maybe it stung him and he was trying to warn me that it could sting me too or something like that. Or maybe he wanted me to help him catch it. But I doubt that the latter is true, because after he showed me that he wanted back in. The bug was buzzing around the porch later on and Treader again tried to catch it.
Whatever Treader's reason fro showing it to me, I think that he is even smarter than I thought. I mean, my other dog Cookie is smart too but she never does stuff like what Treader did today. Well, when people were working on the roof several years ago Cookie did, but she hasn't done it since.

Dogs never cease to amaze us humans. laugh out loud

I think the latter of the two IS likely. I remember one time Sakura ran up to me and suddenly began to bark. She barked. And barked. And barked. And, I couldn't figure out why. After all, she usually only does that when I'm dressed and haven't taken her for her walk yet. Well, on that day, I thought to get up and I followed her. She led me to the corner of the kitchen where there was a BIG spider and just stared at me. I don't think she got bit... I'm guessing I might've known? I think she was wanting me to get rid of the spider. I don't know, though. Dogs always amaze me. They're smarter than we often give them credit for. Even the dogs that don't even wanna learn any tricks.

Maybe they show this behavior in their pack in the wild?
