NEW CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

As we don't want to intrude on other contests, we are starting this one on January 15, 2007 and running it through March 31, 2007. A VERY LONG contest... But a great one.

We are trying to get great involvement of all Dogsters to donate to their local shelters (or any shelter). We (Sassy and I) have come up with a great idea. We are going to hold a drawing.. Entries are determined by: every donation you make, you get 1 entry. For every hour you volunteer at a shelter, you get 2 entries. Dollar amount won't matter for the entries. This is to make it fair to those who don't have a lot of money, but still want to donate... For the drawing- we will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. If you do donate your time, we will have a special email set up blanketsforbabies@earthlink.net for your shelters to email us with the amount of time you were there, the name of the shelter and their telephone numbers...

Also... There will be a winner for the most money/items donated.. (So keep those receipts)...

Also... There will be a winner for the most entries.

So........ We will have 3 winners...

Pictures must be submitted with items that you donate along with the shelter donated to and date donated. Label your pictures Project Shelter Stockup 2007 and a brief description of what you did...

Also.. If you are at a loss for what to donate, Jasmine has graciously made a list for us to peruse... Shelter Wants

We will have judges!

We will also have prizes (Donations would be GREAT!)
Sassy: $50 to shelter of your choice
Cherokee: $50 to shelter of your choice
Dixie, Ally, and Chelsea,: $10 5 blankets to shelter of your choice 1 rosette for each winner and 1 for the 2nd and 3rd places.
Sparky: 1 rosette for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
Prince Brutus:
1st place- a rosette, $10 to their shelter, and a blanket to the Blankets for Babies in their name.
2nd-a rosette and $5 to their shelter
3rd- a rosette
Clover offered $50 to shelter of your choice
Shiloh offered $50 to shelter of your choice
Sammy offered 1 star for the winner of the most entries.
1 rosettes for each of the other winners (total of 2)
1 rosette for 2nd place
1 rosette for 3rd place
Daisy Mae CGC offered:
3 rosettes for 1st place
2 rosettes for 2nd place
1 rosette for 3rd place
Roxie Doxie has offered a matching leash and collar to one of our winners.
Shaela has offered a winner $25 to the shelter of their choice....

Would donations to rescue groups also count? Example being: Donations of good for auctions that collect monies for said rescue group?

We want to participate!!! I already belong to the Snuggles Group and have just finished a box full of snuggles to go off to a kitty rescue group. I also volunteer at a shelter regularly and trying to win money for them would be great!! Send me the email address for the shelter hours.

For those pups out there who may not be that familiar with shelter adoptions, I'd like to tell you about mine:
It took 2 shelters and one shelter shuttle program for me to find my family. The shelter staff housed and fed me, took me to a vet for a pretty comprehensive health check, had me neutered, tested me for all kinds of diseases, innoculated me against several diseases, and sent me home with a collar, leash, and 5 lb bag of food. My adoption fee????
$60.00. We're pretty sure no one made a profit on me.

I hope everypup considers participating in this contest, shelters and rescue organizations need all the help they can get!!

Does volunteering time at a rescue's adoption event count (the group I volunteer for doesn't have a shelter). What about fostering for a rescue group?

Yes and yes.. I'll have to think about what kind of entries you can get for fostering.. Because that is the best thing in the world!! But if you volunteer at a rescue's adoption event, just get someone to email us with how long you were there!! smile
