We got Takala from Night Eyes Farms here in CA. I guess there are only two of us on here so far. Takala was one of 5 pups in her litter and there was another litter born a week before of 5 puppies as well. I'd love to know where they all went off to. We're the first in the area to have a NAID and the vet had to enter the breed into their system. They fell in love with her looks when we brought her in last week.

I can't rave enough about attending puppy socials as soon as you get your NAID. Takala was starting to get a bit timid when we'd pass other dogs on the street and now after just two times at a puppy social over the weekend she's running off after other dogs as we pass them on the street. Socialize, socialize, socialize!!

i agree takala, when i first got tala i took him everywhere with me! i had him meet as many new people and dogs as possible! one really good thing i did was bring him to petco, where you can bring your pets in with you. that was a good way to meet lots of people and pets in one place. now, he really isnt afraid of people and absolutely LOVES other dogs! sometimes he is timid, depending on the dog, but that was probably cause he was pretty much attacked by a little beagle!! lol it was really funny actually, such a big dog (about 30lbs now at 3 months) getting scared by a little 15lb beagle.
Keita, to be honestly dont know what to tell you about the aggression now that keita is 10 months old. when i got tala, i made sure that he wouldnt be aggressive, since he will be around 140lbs (tala and the other pups of his litter were some of the largest pups they have had), we didnt want any problems. but it was easier when he was little, they grow fast and Keita looks like a big dog now and i dont really have any suggestions besides, contact barb, and probably a good trainer. many of them do one-on-one aggression training (at least here in NH), i think that could do a lot of good for you and your dog.

Hi Joba: What is the name of the kennel that you came from in Alaska? Who are you registered with? I might want to get a pup from your breeder.

Regarding Joba;
The breeders in Alaska are not authorized breeders of the NAID. The Alaska breeder admitted to me that her dogs are NOT NAID's. Chances are you have a husky malamute cross. Beautiful dog though. So if anyone wants to purchase a pup from the Alaska breeder, be advised that it is not and will not be recognized as a NAID.

Signed: Authorized breeder of the True NAID dogs!!!

Regarding Keita: First, contact the breeder. Second. Take your dog to a obedience class. If the dog is not spayed or neutered do that as well. If need be, have a trainer come to your house to evaluate the situation, and if your child is pestering Keita, especially if he is eating, put her in a room by herself.

Kya one of my girls came from Willoway as well. Kya is a real character, she will do anything for food. She also is the smartest of the bunch! I got her as a adult and I was afraid that she would not adapt well in a new household. She is leary of strangers and men (very common with this breed.) She will warm up to strangers after awhile. The NAID is not a typical acting dog, they are so much more!
