My dog, Greta is 3 years old. My trainer said labs calm down at 3. Well, I'm still waiting. I think "never". Thats o.k. I still love her.

Lily calmed down about 3 years old. She is 9 now and she will still jump around like a bucking bronco when she's excited. She is full of energy at the beginning of our walks...in fact she starts off walking me. She is always ready to go home though!!!

Labrador 's never calm down, my 7 year old female lab has lots of energy and is full of life. Proper training, daily exercise-1-2 hours of high impact exercise will relax your pooch and maybe they will appear to be more calm. Not my pooch, she is never tired, she is calm when she is asleep.blue dog

I adopted Shandi when she was 18 months old and buy was she a feisty thing, she chewed up everything and was like an overgrown puppy. She just turned 2 a month ago and she has clamed down a tiny bit but is still my big puppy.blue dog

Hi I'm Abigail

Today is the black lab at my house's 12th birthday, he taught me every thing I know and Mommy says hes always been a good dog. he really calmed down about 2 yrs old but just in the last 6 months has gone senile, agh. He does worse things than when he was a puppy and mommy can't belive it as she looks at him with sad eyes somedays and says "Turbo is the best dog a girl has ever had" and then she looks real sad. When he does his latest round of senile acts mommy laughs and laughs but daddy and my master get quite cross.

I think the answer is they never calm down, just like human babies, when you think its all cool they change again, its just different mad acts. Its a Lab thing and its cool just like people they never want to admit they can't do things any more.

They are such a fun breed of dog and I don't think we would have them any other way.

Big Savvy just turned 3. And I am not sure you could call her behavior mature. But...there is a slightly improved tendency to actually listen and she has stopped destroying the potted plants.

(that might not last, though. I am just bringing some in for the winter and the next few days will tell.)

Who could help but love a dog who is always ready for anything? I love their big hearts and happy souls.

Donner just turned 2, and he is high on life. Everything that happens is his favorite thing. There are just too many things for him to do and not enough time.

This guys metabolism is so high there was an actual cloud of steam surrounding him the other day in the rain!! HELP!!!

laugh out loud
