Mom made me some homemade garlic cookies the other day. They were so yummy! But today when she went to give me one, she said it turns out they got moldy! GRRRR I was so disappointed because they were YUMMY!!!

Is there a trick to drying homemade dog biscuits so they get nice and hard and crispy like the ones you buy at the store?

Mom says the garlic ingredients stunk up the whole apartment, so she's not looking forward to making them again....but since she loves me, she will. I thought it smelled quite delicious, personally! way to go

HI Kiera,
I have my own doggy bakery & since there are no preservatives in the cookies they need to be kept in the fridge to prevent molding.
I found after they cool for 2 hours I freeze them in airtight containers, that way their always crunchy.Hope this helps ya out.
Happy Baking...MS. Muddysmile

We've found that with our jerky, if you put it in the ziploc bag bee-fore it's complete cooled, there will bee some condensation in the bag.

Our suggestion fur your cookies follows along the same line. Cool completely, bag them up (squeeze excess air out of the bag), store in the fridge what you can use in a few days....freeze the rest.

Smoke, frozen cookies!

make sure they fully cool before you put them in a baggie or tupperware... if they are still steaming they are adding mosture to the container and thats what causes the mold smile

if you did that last time, cook them a little longer

We back at about 350, but then when we are all done baking them, we turn the oven down really low (175-200 F) and dry them out for a long time...

another thing, i always flip them once during baking and usually bake a little longer then the time reccomended... not to burning point but just to make sure they arent moist anymore...
