Nupro is terrific!!!! I mix the skin and coat supplement in with all my dogs food (show or not)... it's basically a miracle working. I couldn't name one downfall of this supplement, I've never seen something that works so wonderful.
Cali, the oldest golden in the household overcame fibrocarcosis two years ago, she was, at the time, not on Nupro because she wasn't a show dog and therefore I didn't think it was necessary.
Well to remove the cancer, parts of her back had to be shaved down...for two months there was no growth of hair so I finally said, hey I'm going to give Nupro a try with her... and within that month, her hair grew back wherever it was missing.
Nupro also restored Cali's "lost youth"...she still acts like a puppy sometimes.

If you look at my page you can see Eden's coat and decide for yourself... before shows, all I have to do is trim her ears, she rarely and barely sheds and has never had a mat in her life. With nupro and a good bath and brush every once in a while grooming with Eden is virtually non-existent.

AS FOR FEEDING:

I just purused your pages because technically weight doesn't matter as much as the breed and activity level of your dogs.
How much are you feeding now?
What are you feeding now?
Make sure whatever you are feeding is a premium quality food, and no that isn't Iams or Purina... it's Canidae, Wellness, Merrick, Blue Buffalo...Always look for main ingredients including: turkey, chicken, lamb, venison, fish, BROWN RICE, oatmeal, and ABSOLUTELY NO CORN..corn does just as much for us (nothing) as it does for our dogs smile

If your guys are active in the sense that they go for frequent walks throughout the day, RUN in the yard for a couple hours, and/or are just altogether hyper then those dogs need the most food...
If you have lazy and less active dogs that would rather lay on your lap than play frisbee, they should eat less food.
One of my goldens is very lazy, she eats 1½c of food each day... one of my cockers, on the other hand who weighs about 1/4 of what the golden weighs eats 3c of food each day!

All your dogs look like they're in good condition...just remember to make sure they always have a waist, once a bulge forms you know you've been feeding wayyyy too much. Especially with the lab mix (Nate) and the boston terrier...they will be very susceptible to weight gain. If you can give me some more info on what they're doing now, I can help you a little more smile

wow, eden thanks to you & your mommy for taking the time to responding to us!!!! we currently are on wellness & are all doing great however, mommy still wants to try home cooked. we're all pretty mellow for the most part at out house but we can all do quite the laps when we want to.snoopysnoopy for the most part our activity level is average. nate & myself both eat just under a cup of kibble per meal (2x's a day) but mommy also adds thing like yoguart, fruits, veggies, pumkin, baby food, eggs, cottage cheese...to our kibble. meeko eats 3/8 of a cup of kibble 2x's a day plus whatever mommy mixes in for us as well. we get fruits & veggies through the day as well for treats...mommy no longer buys us doggy treats since the dog food scare. so is nupro all mommy has to mix in with our home cooked food to ensure we get evrthing we need??

Wellness is a terrific food and the amounts your mom is feeding you guys sounds just right! I feed my cockers Wellness Whitefish and Sweet Potato for skin and coat. All my dogs are on Nupro 1x in the morning mixed in with their food and added water to create a yummy gravy (and adding water to any dry food releases the flavors and aromas making the food much more appealing). Nupro has all the vitamins and minerals that dogs need and is made of all healthy, human grade products with no corn, wheat, preservatives, or fillers.

The only dogs who receive cookies now are my senior dogs and they get 1½ glucosamine biscuits per day and occasionally a canidae platinum cookie. The rest of the gang all receive carrots and ice cubes as their treats.

For a fun treat sometimes I mix chopped up organic strawberries and whole blueberries in with nonfat plain yogurt and spoon the mixture into ice cubes trays and freeze them. All my guys love it and it certainly gives them something to do trying to figure out how to eat it!

I was using Nupro Joint Support for Bailey for about 2 months and didn't like it. It seemed like her joints were getting worse, rather than better. So i stopped using it and use raw chicken feet instead (as a g/c supplement). However, a friend of mine has had success with it-guess it depends on the dog.
