Dog shampoo is around 2 points less acid than people shampoo. So, it is safe (and gentle) to use dog shampoo on people but not the other way round. Try it for awhile and see.
Professional dog shampoo (not the crap you buy off the shelf at the chain pet store) is also cheaper by a long shot than people shampoo because professional groomers use a concentrated solution which dilutes down before use. I like DoubleK Ultimate all natural which dilutes at 50:1 ratio with water. A teaspoon of shampoo concentrate makes a quart of dog wash. Compare a $30 gallon (128 ounces) of DoubleK to an .89 bottle of Suave (22 ounces) and factor in dilution ratios. Big savings.
If you condition your dog every time you wash it you can wash it daily. I'll say that again. If you condition your dog every time you wash it you can wash it daily. People who show dogs wash/condition/dry their dogs daily or sometimes multiple times daily to keep their coats show ready. | | | | |
