Alex is a four year old neutered male that we have had since babyhood. However, despite the pedigree we have showing five previous generations, our vet (and us) are pretty darned sure he's in-bred. Hip issues and recurring fatty tumor on front shin. He has also attacked a child. We pulled him off, and put him in his crate. Child's arm was bruised, adn Alex broke the skin but didn't draw blood. He KNOWS this girl - she's been here half a dozen times before with no problems. She was scared, but decided to try again with him, and at first sight, he tried to go after her.

Is this a behavior that can be corrected, or will we have to look for another home for him? This decision is breaking our hearts, but I am afraid of what he might do to another child.
