GO!

Prayer request please...

This is a special place for pups to share their love and support for each other during difficult times; it's a place to light candles, give the "Power of the Paw," and let everyfur know they are never ever alone.

Mom likes me- best!:)

Please send good thoughts and prayers my way. My momma is very upset and can't stop crying. I've had some snotty nose and been making funny noises when I breathe for a few months now. I've been back and forth to my doctor and another local special doctor many many times over the past months and they couldn't figure out what is wrong with me. So I went to Garden State Veterinary Specialists and Saturday they told my mom that I have a large mass in the back of my nose. frown They say it doesn't look good and if it's cancer, it's not operable and all they can do is radiation but that might only give me one more year. So momma is praying REALLY hard that I'm not the norm and that by some chance this mass is benign (whatever that means). I'm not even 4 years old yet and mom says it's just not fair - I hate to see her so sad and don't want to leave her. Please send positive thoughts that I don't have to. Mom is holding her breath until she gets the test results tomorrow (Tuesday) and in the meantime is giving me lots of love and snuggles and spoiling me rotten.

Hi everyone. Thank you all for all the good thoughts and prayers! But unfortunately momma didn't get good news from the doctor on Tuesday and he said I've got a very large sarcoma in my nose. The special doctor says because of the size and where it is they can't operate and take it out and the only option is radiation. But there's nowhere near me that does it so I'd have to go to that hospital and stay there in a kennel Monday-Friday for 4 weeks. And even after all that, I'd probably only have another year with my pawrents. So right now mom and dad are very sad but have decided they won't put me through all the stress of the treatment and being away from them but instead will let me stay home where I'm happy and comfortable, keep me comfortable for as long as possible, and love me tons for whatever time we have left together. We're all very sad right now but mom's trying to stay upbeat for my sake and giving me lots of hugs. Thank you all again for all of your good wishes and I'll stay in touch and keep you posted. Love to you all!

Hi Rain,

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. I have the other post for Prayers Needed (for my Wilbur Bud). I'd like to share a positive story about my other dog, Buster Elmer. He was diagnosed exactly 1 year ago with a very large oral melanoma in the back of his mouth. I immediately went up to Red Bank, in Tinton Falls, which is not far from you. It was too large to operate and the prognosis was about 4 months without proper treatment. We did everything available (radiation, special vaccines, chemo,....) and it shrunk 80% and they were able to remove it. He has been in remission and we are a year out. Buster's cancer was a very active, fast growing cancer and he is doing amazing. So even when things look so bleak, there is hope. Prayers that both Rain and my Wilbur will be able to fight and beat this horrible, nasty disease.
