GO!

Back to surgery, again.. twice in two weeks.

This is a special place for pups to share their love and support for each other during difficult times; it's a place to light candles, give the "Power of the Paw," and let everyfur know they are never ever alone.

How's it going now? Is she in a lot of pain? I suppose she is. Hope everything goes good from now on. Are you still going to be able to talk to us when you go to Japan? Hope so!

Sending hug hug your way!

hug Thanks for asking about us Bella..

And thanks everyone else for the well wishes...

Lilith still can't walk but she is touching her "bad leg" (the one with 3 surgeries on it) to the ground already when I take her out on a towel sling for potty. She gets a lot of pain meds but her incisions looks really really clean and there is no swelling at all this time.

As for traveling, it depends how much she heels up by the week we leave. I don't expect her to be fine in 4 weeks, just not in pain enough to stand up for a little while and be carried around a lot. I hope she will be okay, even if she is "butt naked"! confused

Lilith,

How are you doing? Are you in Japan?

Hope things went smoothly and that you never ever have to have another leg surgery.

Thanks all, for the well wishes..

Yes, we are in Japan now. Lilith went for her 4 week post-op check up the Friday before we left, and the doctor was concerned her one knee wasn't recovery as well as expected. It was swollen and per her radiographs, the healing of the bone on one side was abnormal, so they flushed it out and sent it out for cultures.. it returned yesterday (through email) with a diagnosis that Lilith has a Staph infection in one knee. Before we left he had given us 3 weeks' worth of Clamavox, which he confirmed should clear up her Staph infection. Lilith is in a bit of pain, but she is functional and slowly using 4 legs again despite her discomfort. We've been through a lot with her knees and an infection honestly feels like the least that could happen, although we are taking it seriously since I have heard Staph infections could become serious.

Anyway, happy holidays to everyone. Here's to a healthy new year to all the pups and owners out there. hug
