Need a little paw-prayer!!!

My ear has been bothering me lately - yesterday mom and dad cleaned it really well, it was sooo dirty. I scratch and shake my head constantly. (And I absolutely HATE my hears cleaned!)

Mom and dad aren't sure if it's an infection or ear mites. Mom says she'll call the vet tomorrow first thing - but I hate the vet too! Usually mom gives me a pill a few hours before we go to calm me down. But if we have to go tomorrow and mom wants me to - she won't have enough time to get the pill and give it to me before the visit!

My mom feels so bad - because I've had a hard few weeks - just over a week ago my brother, Deacon, lost his battle with lymphosarcoma. I'm so stressed out anyways - and now this.

Mom's also worried if it's ear mites everyone in our family will have them and I have one k9 brother and 5 feline brother and sisters! Mom and dad will have to treat all of them and she says that if all 7 of us have to go to vet at the same time not only will it be a hassle but it will be expensive!!

My mom and dad were so stressed with Deacon and now this!!

I feel so bad for your mom and dad. They certainly could use a break.

I hope your ear gets better and you don't get too stressed at the vet. Tell your mom and dad that everything will be fine. Maybe you could do something cute to distract them! I'm good at that and I bet you are too.wink

Thanks! My mom says she needs a little break - but she'd also do anything for any one of us!

I just feel bad for her.....she wonders if there is anything she can give me (over the counter) if she doesn't have time to go to the vet and get the meds I normally take!!

Hi Roo I have the same problem and Mum had a talk to our chemist and he gave Mum some cream that humans use and it works great havent any itch now so try and get her to go to the chemist first .Good Lucksnoopy

hi Roo, I know how you feel. I HATED my ears cleaned. Mom had to take me to the vet once cause I was doing the same thing, scratching and shaking and my ears were beet red. It cost mom $200 just to clean my ears cause they had to put me under cause I wouldn't sit still. My problem was just dirty ears, deep down. Mom said the vet really stuck her finger down there and pulled out black stuff, ick. I hope all you have is dirty ears. Just so you know, Deacon is just fine. We became good buddys and hang out all day playing ball
