As long as you're sure her pickiness isn't caused by a medical issue, use some tough love. I would put down a bowl of dry food in the morning, leave it out for 15 minutes, then pick it up and put it away whether she has eaten or not. Repeat in the evening. Eventually she will decide to eat the food. Many dogs prefer wet food for the strong smell/taste and she's learned if she doesn't eat the dry, you'll give her wet food.

Winalot is not a food I'm familiar with (I don't think we have it in the States) but wet foods are mostly moisture so a large dog like a German Shepherd would probably need a substantial amount. Also keep in mind that the higher quality a food, the less the dog will need to eat. The So You Are Confused By Dog Food thread has some really great information on how to pick a healthy food.

totally agree with Onyx. I too have never heard of Winalot, but the thread he has linked you to has awesome info.
I would have 2 set meal times. Measure out the kibble, put it down for 15 minutes, then pick it up. Now the tough part...NO food, or treats until the next feeding time. If you use treats to train, then use pieces of kibble from your dinner portions. Next meal put the food down again for 15 minutes. Lather rinse repeat.
A HEALTHY dog will not starve itself & can survive not eating for a day. It is important if you do this that you are consistent..no giving in to those soulful eyes, or not so gentle goose!laugh out loud
Let us know how it goes.

I agree, a dog certainly will not starve itself. If she is a year old and only had canned food, it will come to see who will win the battle. If it makes YOU feel better, you could mix some wet and dry food and wean her off after a week. I mean just a little wet (2 tablespoons). I have had a few dogs when I first got them they were picky with food. If they walk away from the bowl of food, it gets put away. This eliminates the other dogs getting into more food. Get a good quality dog food (read the ingredients) and you will pay less in vet bills in the future.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
