Squ'mey is the slowest maturing dog I have ever had. His teenage years have been very trying. His reactivity on leash has been improving...to the point of making walks quite pleasant.
His goofy stubborn act continues though. The blank stare & utter disregard for commands drives me nuts...& he knows it! laugh out loud
Last night he was doing zoomies in the snow when something caught his eye. Of course he starts to take after it. My yard is not fully fenced so I always supervise & even leash him at times. I gave his recall whistle & a come......He halted mid stride & came barrelling back!!cheer Of course I gave him tons of praise & lovins & a good "thumping". He was so proud of himself as was I.
So as we approach 32 months I am finally getting more glimpses of the dog he will be & it is awesome. Dare I say it? Could he truly be settling into adulthood & leaving crazy teens behind?

*sigh* your little boy is growing up. Before you know it he'll be leaving home, getting married, having kids....

I hope for your sake maturity is coming. Sabi was born old but Bud was still acting like a brat at 5 years.

Yay! Good job! cheer

Koda will be 5 in April and he still acts like he did when I got him at 2. He's a puppy in a dog's body. *sigh*
He listens well and learns fast but I think he still has and always will have, the mentality of 6 month old.

Puppyhood is so tough... Especially when the pup weighs 60 lb! I have to keep reminding my husband (and me, truth be told) that she IS only 9 months old! I know it will get better.

Congrats on (paws crossed) getting closer!

I am a furever baby and have been for over five years and weigh 80 lbs. I still have my cute puppy face look, my chubby puppy fat and still demand cuddles and kisses. Who wants to grow up? The only bad thing I did when I was younger was to chew my mommy's shoes, but now I do not do anything wrong. Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about the skunk incident, but that is a good thing to forget. Furever furbabies unite!
