I'm noticing a lot of dandruff on Ivan's back. What can I do to cut back on this? Do they make Head & Shoulders for dogs? shrug

Hi Ivan! wave Could be the typical skin issues that GSD have! Does he take any fish oil? That may help? Dieta knows about some nice shampoos, hopefully she'll see this post! big grin

ETA: Just asked her, she should post today! big grin

no head and shoulders. funny.

Well my dear, for this breed and many more the diet of your dog is very important.
Check your dog food bag for corn, corn multen or anything corn, invest in something that has no corn and not lots of grains.

It is hard to find a good one when they are a puppy.

For shampoo the best ones after years of also tinkering with are Solid Gold Herbal, they use to have more.
And I just found this year Pet Promise, I have only seen it in chicago.
So if you live there I can tell you where. It is about the same price as solid gold, but it is also natural shampoo. It is however thicker than SG, a little goes a long ways.
It smells great, both leaves the coat and skin soft and shiny.

There can be dander from dry skin, poor diet and health reasons.
There can be like dander , which is damaged skin from too much brushing and or using the wrong type of brush on them.

hope any of this helps.
Have to run, good luck
