I like frenchies alot and had considered them along with boston terriers and cavalaiers for my next dog. I was a bit suprised to see on the french bulldog rescue network alot of stuff about dog aggression.

I have a multi dog home and will always have 5-6 dogs. My dogs are all good with other dogs. My english bulldog is not good at the dog park but is fine with his siblings and friends dogs. He played nicely with a puppy today. He also prefers smaller dogs. Just about hte only thing he hates is dogs stepping on him when he is asleep, sometimes my pugs do that and he doesnt like it.

Anyway I was thinking of a frenchie puppy, do you think it would be good in a multi dog home?

I have three Frenchies a choc Lab and a Basset hound. My Frenchies all get along great with each other. The dogs from rescue sights were probably not trained properly or were abused and that is why they are surrendered. I love my Frenchies and could never be without many!!!!

GO FRENCHIES!!!!

Hi, my name is Cooper! Sadly, I hate dogs on my territory, but my owner thinks I would be fine with a sibling. I grew up with dogs until I was adopted, just I don't have siblings here, so I don't like any dog who walks by very much. Which is strange...maybe try getting a frenchie from a breeder instead of a shelter. Rescuing dogs is great, but if the breeder has other animals, maybe the dog with get along with your current dogs. Good luck!

Hmmm, I have heard so many people say that there Frenchie LOVES everyone and everything (dogs, cats, people, etc...) But I've also heard people say the opposite. In my own experience, I was not a fan of "bossy" dogs and think I had a hard time reading other doggie signals. I had a tough time realizing some dogs don't want to play (or I did realize and just didn't care?) and that got me into some trouble. I've been in a few doggie tiffs and I am a bit "dominant." The trainer told mom not to confuse dominance with aggression. Some Frenchies (as all other dogs/breeds) are naturally just more dominant.

My frenchies... when they are good they are very, very good but when they are bad...............
Most of my females are real prima donnas and do not share anything!!! I don't call it agression, I call it a behavioral trait of the breed.
And, Luke.... he only likes female frenchies and only one at a time!

Do you keep your doggies seperate then? It sounds like some of the traits are very similar to the english bulldog. My Bob is great 99% of the time but when he is bad, ohh boy He is fine with family dogs though as long as there is no food or chewis down We feed and give chewies with him seperated

I think that you will see more attitudes in females however I wouldn’t say they are aggressive. I would agree with Mittens, there would be a higher rate of aggression issues due to having poor past experiences in the rescues. Are you considering a rescue? If so the huge benefit to that is they are in foster care prior to placement and their temperament is known. On the websites you can view a profile of each dog and it should tell you yes or no with kids, cats and other dogs. Here is the one I would recommend,

Well we are not getting a frenchie any time soon However, I definitely want to add a frenchie to our home some day (they are on my lsit of must have breeds and its a long list but they are at the top) I think what I will most likely do is wait until my female pug ping passes on (we hope that never happens but inevitably it will but she is pretty young now, only 6, so we should have her a good long tie) and add a female frenchie to our home as the only girl dog. Its not that Im totaly set on a girl as opposed to a boy but we kind of prefer boy dogs and we will always have five dogs (likely 4 boys and one girl we wouldnt have two girls now except one fell into our laps) so it seems that if the frenchie was a girl and everyone else was a boy that would help curb the same sex aggression, does that make sense? When the time comes Im not opposed to a rescue but I think we will most likely go with a puppy from a reputable breeder.
