Is there a reason why most food companies don't put their FULL analysis on their websites and even their bags? Reason I'm asking is that I've had to find a special diet for Murphy because of his crystals, a diet with lower mineral counts than the prescription diets. I feel bad as I have to keep to emailing a company about their analysis on each flavor of their food, when they come out with new flavors too. I've only done it twice because I feel like such a pain laugh out loud.

Is there a reason behind not putting full analysis? It would be ten times easier to find him a good flavor if they just put the analysis right on the bag lol. shrug

I say keep emailing and don't feel bad about it! smile

I've had decent luck with the companies I've contacted. Most have replied, and those that didn't have the information I wanted on-hand found it and sent it along within a few days.

For me, if a company can't be bothered to answer an email from a potential customer, then I'm not really interested in buying their products.

Can I ask what you are feeding Murphy...?
I ask bc frankie gets horrible tear stains, so maybe a lower mineral food may help...?

The only brands that I've found the full analysis for foods online are: The Honest Kitchen, Nature's Variety, and EVO.

I feed Murphy Bravo! pre made raw. It's helped him so much, but I'm not sure about lower minerals helping tear stains. For some reason, adding fish oil to his diet seemed to change his tear stains around for the better.

Am I wrong for being disappointed that more foods don't put it on the bag or at least the website? It's odd to me..

Cranberry is helpful for tear staining...if you can add some cranberry snacks/treats or even use a food that includes cranberry it might help.

Also, with regard to more specific information on food analysis, call or email the company and nag them if necessary. My Cindy has been told that the scientific testing that produces that statistical data for the actual analysis can add to the cost. Whether that's specifically why some companies have more or less detail, I'm not sure. Just a thought though.

Murph, I agree...for one reason or another, I have needed to look at specific stuff on dog foods. I have noticed that companies are pretty quick to respond (I have contacted wellness, innova, acana, evo, merrick...maybe more laugh out loud )

I do notice some companies put more on their website too. I'm not sure if there is a specific reason they don't put as much out there. Maybe so their competitors don't have access? who knows? shrug

oh and smurf...you are looking as adorable as ever in that picture cloud 9

Murphy, I've tried every prescription diet out there, and still struggled with crystals. The only thing that worked was to stop kibble completely and give canned food mixed with a little water. No more crystals or concentrated urine. It's been a long struggle.
