Olive has been fed the four regular ToTW formulas since we adopted her at 3 months old. A few months ago, I saw they announced a new puppy line. I've been wondering why they would do this, when their four formulas were always marketed as "all life stages". Their website & Facebook page said that the regular formulas would still be acceptable to feed to puppies. Content with that answer, I kept feeding ToTW regular to my pup and not dealing with the special puppy food since she was already 6-7 months old when it came out anyway.

We just picked up a new bag today and I noticed the label changed..... it now no longer says "all life stages" anywhere on the bag. It seems ToTW has completely eliminated this phrase completely from their formulas, and I have to say, I'm skeptical.

This isn't a big deal, as Olive turns 1 year old in 2 weeks - but - I'm wondering if the regular ToTW was ever really that safe to feed puppies in the first place. ;/ I just feel a little misled/upset at ToTW and I feel they're not being completely honest. Is it really just about marketing? :/

I'm planning to switch Olive over to Wellness CORE....... ideas are welcome on that, too. smile

on the TOTW website, it now says that the High Prairie (regular) is "formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance." So maybe they tweaked a few things. Pacific Stream and Wetlands are also "maintenance", but Sierra Mountain is still "all life stages."

Yeah, we just finished a bag of the Sierra Mountain and I bought the High-Prairie variety today (we have always switched between all four) and I noticed the labeling was different.

Ugh, this is so disappointing. Did the formulas actually change or just the label?

According to our TOTW rep, AAFCO changed their standards for what makes a food "all life stages." As a result, TOTW could no longer legally call those particular foods ALS and had to create a puppy formula.

TOTW High-Prairie is the ONLY food we've found that doesn't make Maya itch until she has giant bald spots. Is it still safe to feed to her?? How disappointing that we finally find a food that works and now it's questionable.

Mulder, don't have a link. That is simply what our rep told us.

To the previous poster, the HP formula hasn't changed. They just changed the title, and created a separate puppy formula.

I feed ToTW to my adult dogs. However the phosphorus to calcium ratio is off for growing dogs. I never thought it should be labeled as all life stages. I've seen many pups starting to develop crooked legs due to that food. Once you change the food the legs straighten out.

I noticed that totw went from "for all life stages" until they came out with the puppy formula. The place i buy food for my husky pup told me that totw came out with a new puppy formula but i went with earthborn holistics instead. To the orginal poster about wellness core. I love wellness core. I used to feed it to my dachshund until he started producing room clearing gas bol. So i switched him to totw. I think core is best used for dogs with high energy large breeds like labs and huskies. Definitely try it esp. now that petsmart is carrying it smile
