I've already taken her to the vets and they said nothing is wrong with her. She has always been a picky eater, but has always loved the food shes on. Lately however shes not been eating and tonight when I looked over the end rib was noticeable when she was laying down. I've noticed it starting to protrude and increased her food, even added milk to get her to eat yet she still refuses to.

I've checked her teeth and they are all fine, so any ideas on how to get her to eat?

Have you seen the dogaware article on the subject of inappetence?
http://www.dogaware.com/articles/wdjinappetence.html

I am no expert in healthy dogs turning down food. Max would eat slowly if kibble wasn't up to his high standards but always ate. Sassy ate anything of animal or plant origin I think.

If she used to eat it and now won't first thing I would wonder is that kibble wholesome? Kibble goes bad. The fat gets rancid and there can be a buildup of storage mites or flour moths. Possibly rancid fat, insect poop and toxins taste bad to some dogs, wouldn't have phased Sassy a bit. There have been a few recalls of corn based kibble for aflatoxin levels in the past 6 months. Apparently a bad batch of corn got into the food chain somewhere.

As Maxwell already mentioned, maybe the kibble doesn't smell quite as fresh and appealing as it once did...

I am a terribly picky eater, by Cindy has found that feeding me small breed formulas appeals to my palatte a lot...I actually prefer smaller kibble and the small breed formulas are often extra palatable...

I agree with Ellie and Maxwell that something could have gone wrong with the package of food. You can also put canned green beans, yogart, shredded carrots or pumpkin on the dry food to entice the appetite.
