There are usually probiatics in some form in the higher quality foods but probably not as much as your baby may need. Yogart can be put on top of their kibble, plus green beans and shredded carrots. Gives the kibble a nice taste and helps with digestion too.

Lily
Whose bed?? Why- would YOU think- that? |
| Barked: Mon Mar 26, '12 9:52pm PST | | | | | Your first Siberian? They are notorious for tender tummies. IMO, that is way too much food and her body isn't making the best use of it. I'd go back to the 2 1/4 cups and add a mid day meal of something high calorie. Female Sibs are not big dogs and she will fill out as she matures. My furgirls, both who came underweight with horrible diahrrea - Lily, the Sib mix, had colitis - eat TOTW mixed with grained Canidae with an egg on it one day, a scoop of yogurt the next day and a raw meal the next day. They have perfect poo and are at a perfect weight. I did use acidolphus when they were new to me. They seem to get enough enyzmes from the raw egg and raw meal so they don't need anything else added now. BTW, 34 pound Moira gets less than a cup of food and 56 pound Lily gets less than two cups. | | | | |

Alice
Woo! |
| Barked: Tue Mar 27, '12 9:15am PST | | | | | Yes, Alice is our first husky in the family. How could you tell?
I do think we will cut back on the food here and add some extra enzymes for the three weeks before she goes back for another weigh-in at the vet. Our coonhound is getting around 2 1/4 cups and he's around 60 pounds -- the three cups just seems like so much of a relatively good food for Alice (she's got a big frame, but she seems like she's built lean like the sprint-racing huskies). She's obviously not getting anything out of the extra food if she's just pooing it out several times.
We could split her meals up a bit more. I usually do two kibble meals (after our morning walk and then after their walk when we get back from work) and then before I go to work both of the dogs get a kong with some sort of treat and Greek yogurt in it. We could split her dinner up into two, one bowl when we get home and then another before/after her bedtime walk.
I didn't add that when we adopted her, she still had roundworms, so she came home with pretty significant diarrhea and it took a while to get her close to a good poo. The yogurt and whatever probiotics are in TOTW may just not be enough here to get her intestines back in order as well.
Thank you so much for the help everyone!

That's why they can carry salmonella and bubonic plague (when they eat rodents) without any symptoms.

It is very easy on the tummy (most "sensitive stomach" formulas include oatmeal), and often helps with loose stool or diarrhea. By that I mean, don't change her food but add a bit of oatmeal to it.
