Meko hated Evo small bites, and hated kibble all together, so I switched her to Blue Buffalo homestyle canned food. She does great on it, and loved it. Now it has gotten to the point, where she doesn't want to eat at all. Not breakfast, not dinner. I am getting a bit annoied with these food woes. It's draining. I do not want to switch her food yet AGAIN, but need to know some tips or whatever to maybe get her to eat. She has no health problems, and has not finished her food in days...I am trying to get her to eat so she does not get hypoglycemic. I have never known a dog, that didn't like to eat...She will however, eat treats...

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I do rotate between all of the flavors, and she still will just sit there and stare at me, not wanting to eat. When I throw some on the floor, she will sometimes eat it, but never eat out of her bowl. I refuse to hand feed her, I have no time for that when I am getting ready in the morning, or doing something in the evening while she is supposed to be eating.

Tough love works with most dogs being fed kibble. Leave the food out for 15 to 20 minutes, then take it away if she doesn't eat it. Give her nothing, absolutely nothing else until he next meal time. Repeat as needed. She should be eating her food up within a few days. I don't recommend trying this for longer than five, but most likely she won't hold out that long.
That's how Cookie's pickyness was cured.

Umm...I do believe I said she is not eating kibble anymore. She is eating canned food.

Have you tried sprinkling a little parmesan cheese on top? I used to have to do that for Bailey, now he eats like a champion with no help...of course I think having a second dog did the most to jump start his eating BOL!

No I haven't tried the cheese Bailey, but if she isn't eating her own food...shouldn't I not give her anything like cheese or people food?...

Meko, you may have had hypoglycemia as a puppy but you are older now. Likely you have enough muscle mass to store enough glucose now. It's rare in an adult, even in a small dog. I would do what Cookie suggested and just give her some tough love.

Lilith, I am aware of hypoglycemia. Meko has had hypoglycemia AS a adult. I have tried this whole tough love thing, and each time, it ends in her getting hypoglycemic...
