Thanks Brodie! That's cool!

LOL! Thanks Sherpa! waveapplause We've tried NL venison, lamb and beef, Acana Lamb and Fish, Orijen Red, Canidae Salmon GF, is there are more I can't remember, lol!!!

I started them back on Acana Lamb yesterday, I just like that food for some reason, and I can't remember why I took them off of it? I think I thought sweet potatoes were bugging them? Buddy's poops are now GREAT in one day! Sadie still has HS's and I THANK her for pooping in the wood chips, MUCH easier pickup! big laughhappy dance (But, Buddy pooped at 12pm AND 2 am!) Getting used to the food I hope!

Dieta the GSD says that females have much more sensitive stomachs than males, so I will stick with it another week and see what happens. I would love it if I could rotate the Fish, Lamb and Chicken grain free (if they aren't allergic to chicken!) And these are finicky GSDs, so they would never eat alot of anything, unless it was home cooked of course smile

I read the Orijen testimonials on their site last night, about cats AND dogs, and they were the most amazing testimonials I've ever read!!! way to go

Meant to ask, since they do have sensitive tummies, have you tried adding probiotic to their meals? It might be beneficial to add it long term to get their tummies in tip top shape. Also, what's the longest you've left them on one food? I know it's hard if they don't seem to be adjusting, but it might be worth sticking with one food for a few months to see if they adjust.

I have Prozyme, I've used it, but I usually end up tossing the food out because of course they don't like the smell or something, but maybe I could sneak a tiny bit in there!

LOL! Nope, I've not let them be on a food for more than 2 weeks red face You get nervous and think, THEY AREN'T EATING!!! Haven't we all felt that! big laugh But they are liking the Acana ALOT I think, and since I like the food alot, too, I feel ok staying on it. way to go

We've always used either Naturvet for straight probiotics or Nupro for a combo, both are meat flavored and even the kitties eat them up. Just a powder you sprinkle on. The Nupro actually encouraged Tanuk to eat a food he didn't like. Also, have you tried good old yogurt?

They might adjust to Acana after a bit then, give their tummies time to adjust and all.

P.S. Just saw in the other thread about the wet food, that could totally be it! Tanuk and the cats all get major poo crazies when we give them wet, we try to save it for medicine taking only. If you use it to entice them, they might like the Natural Balance beef rolls sprinkled on, or just bits of real meat mixed in.

We tried canned awhile back, and Tucker gave me great advice about mixing it in with my hand....but they licked the wet food off of the dry! The best was when they dropped it on the floor, nice and messy! big laugh

Maybe one of those beef flavored powders would help, thanks! way to go

Left out: yes, I've tried yogurt, but they don't like it sometimes, and again I throw the food out. Whenever I add a topper, they prefer that to the kibble, which is a bummer, because they could have both!!! Finicky!!! big laugh

It seems like you switch their foods way too much, you should just pick one food and feed it for couple months to see how they do on it, then add 1-2 more into the rotation. It takes a while for the bacteria in the stomach to adjust to different types of food, which can cause disturbance and digestive issues and poo issues.

I have the same problem! I just recently switched to Natural Balance from Orijen cause I think Karma has some allergies. When she was on Orijen she pooped like 1-3 times a day and now its like 3-5..

UNO! YOU ARE 100% CORRECT! hail

Hi Karma, cute name! wave Are you doing better now on the different food?

Special Report: This morning's poops were PERFECT and SMALL! They had Pacifica last night for dinner with no Grasslands mixed in (has the SP as 2nd ingredient) and voila! AWESOME small poops! hamster dance
So, now I'll keep them on Pacifica for a long while big grin and then I'd like to try the reformulated Grasslands with SP moved lower down the list. If their allergy tests come back with chicken being alright, I want to try Prairie Harvest, too (by the summer, of course) laugh out loud
