Ok, so I always add stuff to the kibble when I feed my dogs.
A typical meal is:
kibble
some green beans
brewers yeast

~or~

kibble
1 egg
brewers yeast

~or~
kibble
sardines

(and sometimes chicken)

Anyway, I think I have Shortdog's diet under control. He's pretty much on the infamous green bean diet, because he's a senior dachshund that seems to put on the weight easily(but I'm managing that)

But Snoopy and Jackson...they're well fed, but I'm not sure I'm doing all that I can.

Jackson is...not so skinny thatyou can see every rib from accross the room...but he's not as full as a lot of 2 year old Shepherds. However, he is EXTREMELY active. He gets out and RUNS ever day, and is restless all the time...
He eats 3 times a day on average.
Can someone tell me some high calorie foods I could give him? I heard egg noodles are good, is this true? I just wanna get him nice and full.

Snoopy- I don't know if I'm feeding him too much or not enough. He's confusing. He's not lazy...and he's not a big dog...so I give him like 2 cups of kibble, and something from the things listed above. I don't want him to get fat, but I wanna make sure he's getting enough for his activity level.

ugh. I mean, they seem happy...but...Jackson is my main concern...

suggestions?

Meat. Feed more meat. Meat comes with fat and fat is where the calories really are. I would supplement with more veggies than meat for dogs that need to slim down and more meat than veggies for the dogs that need the fat. Maybe they won't notice the difference and you won't feel like a big meanie. There is no need to add carbohydrates to kibble, plenty there already.

Read dogaware.com. There is a section on feeding fresh food with kibble. You can substitute quite a bit of the kibble for fresh food if you like.

You could also cook white rice to add to Jackson's diet. Good luck wave
