I have been feeding Kodi Wellness Puppy for a couple months now. He has yet to have a solid poop. In fact his poops are getting worse. He doesn't have any health issues cause I've had him to the vet. I've read that Wellness was sold to a new company and a lot of dogs are having vomiting and having runny poop. Seems like since they changed their packaging the poops have gotten worse. He also makes very large, green , smelly poops. I'm thinking about switching him to Natural Balance. Should I do the switch slowly.

If Kodi doesn't have any other health problems it is probably the food that is causing the problems. If you are going to switch foods make sure to do it very slowly, especially since he has a sensitive stomach right now. Try to do the switch over about 2 weeks if you can. Cookie has a sensitive stomach and whenever we switch her it is usually 2 weeks or longer. Good luck, I hope he gets better!

Wellness gave Daisy some problems as well. Some dogs just dont do well on it. Switching slow is the right thing to do but when Daisy was eating as a puppy Canidae and it made her very sick we did all kinds of tests, etc. Anyways we found a food that worked and when switching the vet told me in her case he recommended me just give her the other food right away. She actually wouldnt eat the Canidae anyways because she knew it hurt her tummy. SO we gave her the other food and BAM huge difference almost right away. No vomitting, no runny stool and a gain of appetite. So in certain cases I believe in switching as fast as you can because whats the point in giving a food that doesnt agree with the tummies anyways. Made sense to me. Just use your best judgement.

If he's been on it for a few months now with no improvement he might very well have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients. After lots of experimentation we discovered that Tanuk cannot tolerate grains. He did well on the Natural Balance LID though, so it's worth a try for your pup! I hope the poos get better!

Wellness and Eagle Pack merged. There have been no formula changes or any issues with dogs. If you heard dogs are getting sick, I'd question the sources because nothing about the foods have changed.
Not every food is right for every dog. Bam-Bam couldn't have any of the good large breed puppy foods because he has a chicken intolerance. Reyna, on the other hand, has an iron stomach and nothing upsets her stomach. It happens. It likely has nothing to do with the food company, and everything to do with your individual dog not tolerating certain things.

When Boo was on wellness large breed puppy, he had runny poop the whole time. (as well as any chicken based food.)

However, he is eating wellness core Ocean, (no chicken at all) and has firm poops and never had a loose poop on it...

Maybe it is an allergy that your dog has.
