Hi pups.

For christmas I bought a package of the smaller yak chews for the dogs. I watched the video on best bully sticks and they said that the small size is good for dogs up to 30 pounds.

Well long story short, I don't feel comfortable using them with my dogs. I have two pugs and two puggles and I worry that they will choke. I am willing to ship them to someone that might be able to use them. I would say a small dog would be best or if you have used the small size before and are comfortable with them.

If anyone is interested I have 3 or so that haven't been chewed on, but the package was opened. You can pmail me if you are interested. I will even pay to ship them to you! If I get multiple requests I will take the first pup or if you only want one or two I will split the set.

I have some on order so you can send them to another pup but I love giving these chews because my two can enjoy them for days (unlike flossies) and it's one of the few treats Magpie can eat with all her allergies.

Here is the original thread about them. If you do a search for Himalayan Dog Chew you'll find lots of reviews.

I got Kuma an order of those and he loves it more than any other treat. He would go to his other chews for a little while and then, back at the Himalayan chews. He is such a sucker for cheese. laugh out loud

I thought about ordering one for Piper ... but I never did.

What was it you didn't like about them? I'd like to try them but I sure don't want her to choke!

Piper, I don't think that you'll choke. They are pretty hard, though. Kuma can work on his for hours. If you buy the small ones, it comes with a bunch of small pieces. So, when you feel that it's too small, just toss it. way to go

I do usually like them if they are the right size. These small ones are just too small and look like they will slide right down my dogs throats. I only like to buy things almost slightly bigger than they need because they are gulpers and tend to inhale things. I have used the large size before and it was fine, until it got down to a nub and I took it away.

I did get a taker though, so I am off to send them!

On the Himalayan Chew Facebook page, folks have commented that you can take the small "nubs" left over, moisten them, then put them into the microwave until they "puff." I think this makes them crunchy/crumbly and your pup can just eat it like a treat. Worth a try if you have nubs lying around. I'm waiting for mine to arrive in the mail.

geez, I wish my kidz liked them. I bought the larges, was soooo...excited to give them something new to chew away on, well, they basically took them from me, put them on the floor and wanted something else.
I gave them to my friend, her dogs love them, she gets them one a month now.
They seem very safe if the dogs are given ones according to the size of the dog. The fully digest so you shouldn't have to worry about obstruction.
