 | | | | I emailed to find out the salt, lime and fat/calories content of these. Since they sounded good, except for the salt--and cheese can be high in cals and fat. HEre is their reply:
Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for your inquiry. I left a message on your phone yesterday, however I think I should write you too.
The amount of salt in the chew, when packaged, is undetectable. During the process of making the chews, 10 mg of salt and 10ml of lime juice is added to the milk for coagulation. When the whey is separated from the liquid, most salt and the acid gets dissolved and removed with the liquid, hence undetectable amount of acid and salt in the final product.
The hard cheese we make is always less than 1% fat. So hardly any calories are from fat, and it contains 53% protein. Calories content is 100 calories per Ounce, which is mostly from protein and about 30% is from the carbohydrates.
Most dogs will have to work for hours if not days to get through our chews ranging in size of .7 - 1.5 oz for small dogs, 2.5 - 2.8 oz for medium and 3.5 - 3.8 for large dogs.
Thank you again for your inquiries. I hope I was able to answer most of your questions. Please email me if you have any further questions.
