Harley, I was also impressed that it lasted 30 mintutes! I had some luck with the compressed rawhide. You have to make sure that your lab won't or can't bite shards off, though. Max loves them, and knows when he starts crunching, I take it away, so he has learned to just chew them. I also rotate those with 10 inch retreiver rolls. I find that when I give the same type of bone for too long he learns it and gets better and devouring them... I have never tried the RMB's. My DH has an aversion to them... Also the reason my dogs still eat kibble.. Anyway, at PetSmart there is also another type of bone- can't think of the name, but it says for powerful chewers, it looks like a torture device, and costs about $20 for the big one, but it is cream colored on the ends with a green middle. Shaped like a bone. It is digestible, and very tough. We have one that we got when my friend's lab mix stayed here- she loves it! As soon as she comes over she goes for that toy. They will eventually wear it down, and you have to replace it, but if your pup will chew on other things- it is a great item, and lasts much longer than $20 worth of bones...
I don't know how to make links, but here is the address to the item's page on petsmart.com so you can see what I am talking about.

Hey Max, Harley would lick the rawhide but not chew it and she won't eat bones - she eats everything off of the bone and leaves me a nice clean bone in the middle of the kitchen totally untouched. I know exactly what toy you are talking about - Harley never liked to chew it but she LOVED to hold it and smell the green part. It is made by Nylabone, who I have been impressed with in the past - When I called them about a problem with one of the toys I had ordered online for Harley when I lived in Germany about 3 years ago, they asked me about her and her chewing style (which at the time was VERY INTENSELY AGGRESSIVE). They sent me that one and another one for free because their products used to say 100% satisfaction guaranteed, I don't know if they still do or not though.

The girls will occasionaly get three foot bully sticks ( i work part time at a feed store so i get them at cost) and they last zoe an hour MAX. Kenya maybe 90 minutes.

The antlers are so far the longest lasting. They dont seem to have as much drive to chew them as a bully stick, but the one we have had has lasted for months.

I personaly dont like rawhide, but when they do get them Ive given compressed rawhide since it is harder to pull apart.

Lexi just got her first bully stick last night too. Thanks to all of your posts I found a specialty pet store near by where I can buy Orijen and a slew of all natural chews. It took her about half an hour to get through the bully stick which is the longest she's ever "worked" on a chew before. She usually destroys things in minutes and chewing is the only thing that calms her down. I will definitely have to give antlerz a try. Nylabones do nothing for her...she could care less.
Thanks again for your help, guys. Any other chew tips would be great...teething labs are tough!

This is REALLY gross and I only did it then because I had tile floors, but Harley had a lot of pano episodes as a youngster and she was on restricted exercise during those times and a very bored, teething, high energy 80lb pup is not my idea of fun. So, I would buy one of those twisted rope "bones" I guess they call them buddah bones and soak it in chicken broth overnight and then let it dry out. It kept her laying down and occupied so she didn't notice the confinement that much. Wish it worked on her now that she's a grown-up.
