I got Olive her first bully stick tonight. I got it a half an hour ago and she has already chewed off a good portion of it.

So clearly they will not cut it.

Can you recommend any other long-lasting chews that actually might live up to that name with a teething lab?

Bullysticks don't last nikki very long either. Maybe an hour? (a 6 inch though) You can just provide her a lot of nylabones, kongs, etc for now but as for edible chews. Have you tried RMB? I haven't tried this but other Dogsters have and they liked the results. I've heard great things about 'antlerz' and tracheas too. smile

Abby & Shadow get rawhides...made in the USA of coarse. They really takes care of their chewing needs! I know that people are split on whether they should have them or not but I've never had a problem - kind of a personal call I guess. If I can get off topic for a minute...what's RMB?

First, I just want say that I think you're the cutest little thing I've ever seen.

Okay, I agree with Nikki try some RMB's or antlers. They last longer. Question though, did you use regular bullysticks or braided ones? Braided ones last longer for Sedona.

'I agree with Sedona. Deer antlers are great long lasting chews. Gunner is a power chewer and devours most chews super quick. It takes him a long while with the deer antlers. Plus, they don't chip or break, which makes them easy on the teeth.

Braided! She unbraided them in about 20 minutes and then started chewing on the individual strands. I tell you what, I have one smart puppy!

I'll look into antlers. Where can I buy them? I didn't see anything like that at petsmart tonight and since I live practically behind one, that's my go-to store for the most part.

Thanks, Sedona. Abby & Shadow get them from our local grocery store. I just didn't know that they were called that - lol!

Are you edible?

I give frozen spine to Tonks when she is teething.. I get it real cheap off of the local farmers after they cull their herds. It's usually goat or calf and there is not very much meat on it but it takes her forever to eat them. I try to stick with 100% digestible chews although I do have Kongs for both dogs. Rawhide is something I give when I run out of other things.

30 minutes??? The bully stick lasted more than 30 minutes??? I used to buy the 9in ones for when she was teething to try to buy time to do stuff and I was glad when I got 10 minutes and the few times I was REALLY lucky and got 15 minutes out of it, I could have kissed the ground in thanks. I never found anything that lasted longer than 15 minutes that was fully edible.
