quick question..i didnt get a chance to read through all the pages of responces but I read a lot of them. I figured out that Piglet needs about 752 calories a day. and that a yr one orijen would be around 252$. But my question is how is the monthly # being broken down. I know you dived the total amount by 12 months but I mean as far as feeding wise. I think it would come out to be more than 252$. Im probally just over shooting the amount im feeding herbut I usually by bigger bags of food than 27lbs. So im thining it would go a little bit faster, but Im probally wrong.

HOLY COW! I'm a total rookie on all this food stuff! Can you help me? What brands are good and what brands are bad with the chemicals that dogs don't need! I'm not sure where to begin. I'm so old school that I thought Iams & Science Diet were good brands. But now after reading about all you professional dog owners I feel like I have no clue!!shrug I'm trying to figure out what dry dog food to try with our Manito as he has terrible farts. I want to try good food w/o breaking the bank but I feel lost with all of the brands and choices. Poor dog, changing up foods is also not good for his stomach either.blue dog

Sedona, this is GREAT info! Thank you for doing all that research! There are so many people feeding cheaper brands because they think the expensive stuff is out of their range!!!

If a dog is free-fed kibble and self-regulates well, do you think if he goes on a higher-calorie kibble he will be satisfied with less?

In other words, is he self-regulating based on volume or calorie content?

I honestly have no idea because I've never met a self regulating dog. Every dog I know would happily eat till they passed out. laugh out loud
