I know I was very surprised when I saw that it would only cost me $2.2/month more to feed Kuma Orijen vs. Beneful.

Let me try to get to work. Wish me luck!!

Although i agree with you Sedona, i dont think many people pay 49.99 for the large bag or Orijen. I pay 59.99.

Still, the point is the same--even if you pay 59.99 instead of 49.99 it wouldnt change too much. I mean if the difference between beneful and orijen is only like 9 bucks.....lol, eh, that little change would be hardly much at all!

Thats a great way to break it down, most people do it by bag, but dont realize that since you feed a lot less of the food, (and you really do), you really aren't spending all lot more! I hope we keep this on top too! Sedona, you are going to have to get a tab on dogster! Like "new dog manual by Sedona" sounds good to us!

Someone should do a homecooking one too.....hint hint BOL

Oh Seddona my eyes hurt. shock Thats a lot of math! applauseapplause to you for figuring it out. I'm terrible at math, my equation consists of :

cheap food = me feeding more = me paying more=unhappy mom and unhealthy dog

Healthy food=me feeding less= me paying about the same as crappy food anyways= healthy dog and happy momlaugh out loudbig laugh

Zoe, you're probably right. However, I can't say how much anyone pays for anything. That's why I used the website for both examples of the food. That's about as fair as I could do it. Even an extra 10 bucks a bag wouldn't change the price per month/year too much.

Butterball, you're right. People always think about the volume of food. Since you get more volume of food (35.2lbs) for less money (31.99) of Beneful than Orijen, people tend to think that it is a whole lot cheaper. We shouldn't be looking at the volume/amount of food, but the nutrional value by weight.

BOL Saddie, you forgot to factor the amount of poop that comes with a cheap foodlaugh out loud I think I like your equation better toobig grin
