I have a question about Beneful that i'm hoping someone can help me with.
I hear about it not being any good for our dogs on these threads but never why. So, can someone please educate me on why Beneful dry food is such a bad choice????
Because it's full of by-products and chemicals that are harmful to pets. It has virtually no meat in it whatsoever. Read the thread So You Are Confused By Dog Food. It explains why it's not a good food. Here are the ingredients.
at our shelter we feed all donated food. when we feed any beneful that's donated, the dogs 'poop' actually stains the cement! we have to scrub the spots a couple of times to get it out! YUCKY!
Cooper, i know how you feel, i used to work at a kennel and people that brought in beneful for their dogs had to go to the bathroom 2x as much and it was awful! And I hated feeding it, the smell of the food makes me want to be sick.
Definately check out Sedona's thread. Tons of great info. Also look at the links especially the one called The Dog Food Project. It will break down all the ingredients for you, what to look for and what to avoid. As said by Sedona all corn, fillers, and chemicals. Yuck
I used to feed Beneful to Nallah. The packaging makes it look like a wonderful food, all those fruits and veggies and meat pictured on the front! Read the ingredient list and you shall see.......
Also, check out Sedona's thread as mentioned above, she has pawesome information on what GOOD dog food should contain! I ditto the smell comment........its awful!!
I fed Coco Beneful for a very short time and she was throwing up alot, the vet said it was because of the sugar in there food, I know alot of people would disagree with me on this one, but since I started feeding her Hills, she has had alot more energy and rarely throws up anymore....
