RMB'S: rabbit quarters with fur attatched, chicken leg quarters, bone-in pork chops(be carefull with these, since they are cut with a saw the bones can be sharp), mackerle and soon I'm adding tuna and dolphin(not the mammal kind).

Organs: Un-idenfied pork organs, rabbit organs(includes green tripe) and sometimes chicken organs

Most of what we've been getting is boneless. Mamma got a bunch of free meat, it was mostly boneless. About a quarter of it is bone-in pork chops. On Wendsday she got about 11lbs of random free range pork organs for $20. And on Tuesday she got free tuna scraps.. YUM

I am not able to get as much variety as I'd like to (though I'm working on it). However, Risa eats:

Chicken quarters
Cornish Game hens
Chicken breast
Chicken thighs
Chicken drumsticks
Chicken wings (rarely)
Chicken liver
Chicken gizzards
Chicken hearts
Turkey drumsticks
Turkey wings
Turkey gizzards
Ground turkey (seldom)
Pork neck
Pork chops
Pork ribs
Beef heart
Beef liver
Beef kidney (though not her favorite)
Beef tongue
Ground Beef (rarely)
Ground Buffalo (it's pricey so it's a rare treat)
Canned Jack Mackeral
Canned Tuna (very seldom)
Canned Sardines
Tilapia fillets
Whole Tilapia
Lamb shoulder (only once so far)

I'd love to get her a greater variety (maybe some rabbit, venision, etc.) but have yet to find a source.

I wish I could get some of the more exotic meats! Buffalo is about as exotic as we get. frown I wish I knew a hunter! I'd be SET.

Wow, you all have quite some lists going!

Due to Storm's allergies, our selection is a bit limited - he cannot have raw pork, for example. Right now he gets:

Bone-in chicken with giblets (I just buy 'em whole and cut 'em up)
Bone-in turkey with giblets (same deal as the chicken above)
Boneless beef
Beef neck
Beef liver

...and I just found a place where I can get beef heart! Woo!

Storm's turned his nose up at any fish I've offered. My next goal is canned tuna.

I'd like to try any other meats I can get my hands on, but most of them just aren't within the price range right now. I keep meaning to try eggs with him, but I don't keep them in the house (I'm allergic) and I'm a bit skittish of them because I've heard that they can give some dogs unhappy tummies - and, if any dog gets an unhappy tummy, it's gonna be Storm.

Hey, Sarah, instead of canned tuna, try sardines. I get Brunswick sardines, packed in spring water with no added salt. Sardines have bones in them so you get some calcium along with your omega 3s.

Most important; Darby loves sardines! Whoo-Hoo!

Food! Got- Food?!

Barked: Sun May 20, '07 6:09am PST
We do a mixture that I throw in the food processor:
Fresh:
tomatoes
carrots
celery
zucchini
(or any other combo of fresh vegetables)
eggs with shells (good for their bones, )
1/4 cup of fish oil to a large batch (but I'm looking around for wheat germ oil too)
fresh fruit such as apples, pears, etc
plain yogurt
I freeze this in containers that hold a day or two supply, thaw it and add it to raw ground turkey, ground chicken, hamburger, pheasant, venison, partridge.
This recipe should be somewhere in the vicinity of Dr Ian Billinghurst's and from his book The BARF Diet. Might also be in his book Give Your Dog A Bone. If anyone has any suggestions or improvements to this, I'm interested.
