Lucy, I got an email from the Whole Dog Journal today and they said that one of the foods that was on their 2007 list was one of the Nutro foods. Another of the Nutro foods was on the 2006 list.

OMD &OMC !eek this is all sooooo scary. after much negativity about Eve's Science diet i have paid more attention to what i was feeding Eve & our kitty 's Sophie & KOKO , so we changed there food about 3 months ago.....while Eve is presently on IAMS dry we aren't feeding them anything on the lists that i found so far cheercheercheer but this doesn't help with the worrying right now shrug it was finally on our local news tonight , including the report that Menu Products conducted their own tests, .......resulting in the deaths of 8 kitty & a dog eekeekeekeekeekeekeekeekeek

Wow I emailed Solid Gold without checking the website first and then went back and checked the website BOL...this is what it says:

MENU FOODS DOES NOT MAKE SOLID GOLD PRODUCTS

We at Solid Gold realize that customers are very concerned with the recent recall of canned products made by Menu foods. We would like to assure our customers that there are no safety concerns with Solid Gold products. Menu Foods does not make Solid Gold foods in any of their manufacturing facilites. Solid Gold is not subject to the current recall and we do not anticipate any problems with our foods.

I haven't read all the posts so if someone already posted this I apologize for the repeat. Canidae doesn't use them either, they have this posted on their website:

Industry Can Recall

In light of the unfortunate current can recall by other respectable pet food manufacturers, our phone lines and emails are tied up with concerned customers. We want you, our valued customer, to feel secure with the continued use of our canned products. CANIDAEŽ canned foods in no way is affected by the recall, nor are any of our products produced in the recalled production facility.

CANIDAE Pet Foods also does not produce cuts and gravies, pouches, and does not contain corn, wheat or soybeans in any of our products or formulations.

Our heartfelt concerns go out to all those effected by the recall.

Lucy - You mentioned that Wellness is produced by Menu Foods. May I ask where you got this information? Is it all of their products or just their canned foods?

I feed my dogs Orijen and Timberwolf Organics, and they are unaffected by the recall as well. Then again, these are high quality grain free foods.
